I will try to make you better in life with Ancient Greek Philosophers quotations still valid nowadays. That shows us that people have not changed much through the years…
Best quote of November 2013 :
BIAS OF PRIENE -Minor Asia- (6th century BCE) Advocate, he was also one of the 7 Greek sages. He said in Ancient Greek :
« Οἱ πλεῖστοι κακοί »
Translation in English :
« Most people are evil »
He means that humankind in general irremediably diabolic, destroying the planet with its nature and all society. Most of the people, in the name of power and money, are selfish. They only think of their own life. No place for solidarity (towards the weak people in need) and for goodness able to save the world from wars.
Good people are disappearing (in politics for instance) because they do not care about power and money. They do have the strengh to fight evil people and defend themselves.
Bad people not having trace of goodness live as wild animals: For instance, they sleep well at night even though they outstrip others during the day. Perhaps, they live in agonies of remorse at the end of their lives. How awful would it be to live in that way.
Conclusion : Live simply, be kind with others and help fellow men in needs. Be social and protect your environnment within the human realms of possibility. You will then be a Happy Men/Women.
Best quote of December 2013 :
Plato copy of portrait bust by Silianion, Musei Capitolini
PLATO (428 – 347 BC) Philosopher in Classical Greece. He was also a mathematician, student of Socrates. He said in ancient greek
» Η άγνοια είναι η αιτία των κακών στους ανθρώπους.
« Ignorance is the root and the stem of every evil in humankind world »
He means that without education at school or inside family fortress, man can behave more or less as an animal. He won’t take into consideration understanding, equality and respect among people.
Ignorant people can be dangerous because they act leaded by instinct. They do not have heart and consciousness…
